Dermaplane Facial

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation treatment that involves gently scraping the face with a medical-grade scalpel to remove the very top layer of skin. We use professional grade products designed specifically for dermaplaning. It removes both dead skin cells and the fine vellus hairs that is known as peach fuzz, leaving the surface of the face ultra smooth. By stimulating the development of new skin cells, this type of exfoliation helps new skin rise to the surface. It can help soften fine lines, superficial hyperpigmentation, dry rough skin, and increase product penetration. It leaves patients with a more soft, youthful, and dewy face, but without any harsh chemicals, downtime, or pain. Includes: Cleanser, Mask, Serum, Moisturizer, and SPF.

FAQs

  • Yes, dermaplaning is generally safe when performed at a reputable medspa by a licensed and trained professional such as an esthetician, nurse, or medical esthetic provider. Professional dermaplaning uses a sterile, single-use surgical scalpel to avoid infections or cross-contamination.

  • No, dermaplaning is generally painless, if performed correctly and by a trained and licensed provider. It feels like a gentle scraping or brushing across the skin.

  • Typically every 3 to 4 weeks, allowing the skin to complete its natural rejuvenation cycle.

  • No, dermaplaning does not make hair grow back thicker or darker. This is a common myth.  Dermaplaning removes vellus hair (aka "peach fuzz") and dead skin cells using a sterile blade.  Vellus hair is soft and fine.  When dermaplaning the structure, color and thickness of the hair does not change.
